RENEE EASON

Renee Eason promotes “Culture Therapy” as a fully licensed Professional Counselor with G&J Counseling by being there for her clients in the professional capacity but also with the understanding that everyone has specific and unique needs so “sometimes we have to meet clients where they are in life.”

By the time she recieved her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling her passion and the desire to provide others support, encouragement and understanding throughout their struggles had been solidified.

Renee grew up with one older sister and the two were raised by a single mother in the very small town of Sparkman, AR. Following her high school graduation, Renee attended Ouachita Baptist University, became involved in social clubs such as ROMS and Tri Chi while majoring in Pre-Medicine. Eventually she began pursuing a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology.

These years and experiences prompted her to begin realizing her life work would be based in helping others heavily influenced by her own emotional struggles that not only took a toll on her educational journey, but also on her overall life and personal relationships. “My strength and resilience has brought me through some of the absolute worst in life! But I refused to allow it to get the best of me!” she says.

Renee earned her Bachelor of Science degree from John Brown University prior to enrolling in her master’s degree program the following semester. Renee’s educational career has awarded her experience working school-based and with clients of all ages from kindergarten through late adulthood. She received extensive training during her internship working with alcohol/substance abuse and individuals who struggle with addictions. “Professionally, the work that I find most rewarding are clients that are teenagers, young adult women and being an advocate and ally for clients within the LGBTQ+ community.”

Renee goes on to say “I want each and every one of my clients to feel that I care about them and what they go through. Every meeting I have the goal of making a deeper connection with them to see what their life and their experiences are like through their eyes. I attempt to align myself with them in such a way that they not only feel supported, but also heard.”

As a group, our mission focuses on aiding each of our clients to achieve personal growth and encouraging an emotionally healthy life.
